Joel Tallent started out as an MC, rhyming over beats since his days as a high school senior in 1987. After discovering electronic music around 1992, he dropped the mic and began experimenting with more atmospheric compositions and beats. After publishing many tracks on the internet, he was signed by [unit] records, and in February 2002 released his first full-length album, Shuffling Data. His second album, Address Unknown, was released on October 2004 with Component Records. A third album, QED, was put out on Ad Noiseam in 2006.

Ad Noiseam's purpose is to release interesting music from a variety of genres. Mainly focused on electronic music, the label has released in the past albums and singles from such a variety of styles as clicks'n'cuts, breakcore, drones, IDM, jazz or dubstep. Ad Noiseam is clearly not a niche label.
