Shaolin Temple of BooM (SToB) is the brainchild of Los Angeles musician and artist David Alvarez. A Shaw Brother's Kung Fu movie aficionado, David first came up with the band name when he was 12 and has stuck with it ever since. He wanted to create "a Kung Fu of music", a force of sound, hence began Shaolin Temple of BooM known by the online symbol (ϟ)

SToB released its first EP "ProjecKtor" in 2006 with David Alvarez performing, composing, arranging and producing all of the tracks (with the exception of playing the drums). Radio stations began requesting CDs and MP3s including Kerrang! Unsigned Artist Radio, KROQ Locals Only among others. SToB was then invited by EVE TV, which is the largest multi-player game on one server in history, to showcase "Into Nothing" for the premeire of it's inaugural online event and was listened to by over thirty thousand people. Flux/Viacom then invited SToB (The only unsigned band to be invited) to create it's own community via it's website while Flux was still in beta. This community is now home to over 1500 members and continually metamorphosing and evolving into unexplored and yet to be discovered paradigms.

In 2007, Engl Amps endorsed David Alvarez and promoted this endorsement in music magazines across Europe, including the largest music magazine in Germany, "Rock Hard".

In 2008 SToB released the EP "Deus Ex Machina" which is a multi chapter concept album. Deus Ex Machina began radio play on regular rotation on XM Radio's Squizz channel.

I waste no time

Career Defining Moment:

Inspired by:
Beethoven, Chopin, Thom Yorke, Trent Reznor, Pink Floyd, Fear Factory and Jimi Hendrix.

Currently Listening To:
Silversun Pickups and the new Yea Yea Yeas also Thom Yorkes solo work.

Collaboration Wish List:

Dream Project:

Final Word:
I love the marriage of electronics with the organic and want to continue to pursue this without any restraints of genre or preconcieved notions of what music should be.
