Freak i.v. has some big accomplishments under his belt, having been the front man for popular Alternative/hardcore groups and playing shows with the likes of Adema, Alien Ant Farm, 30 Seconds to Mars, Kittie, and many others. Ash, aka Freak i.v., has also been big into the rave scene as a DJ spinning styles that ranged from terror core, hard trance, drum'n'bass, breaks and euro dance. Freak's work has had many placements in film and TV, and he is currently working on his debut album, Instincts - keep an eye and an ear out.
Studio:
Career Defining Moment: Touring Lallapalooza. Really did not expect to have such a huge impact as the band I was in did. We were not even expecting it, got a call out of nowhere and that's all she wrote; was a great moment for me. Not to mention getting the chance to be able to work with Klay, I have respected his music for many years. I met and lived with the guys from Crossbreed and through them and some persistence, well, here I am.
Inspired by: Celldweller, Prodigy, Sevendust, Junkie XL, Pual van Dyke, The Agony Scene, Ronnie Size, Switchfoot, Radiohead, Bjork and many others
Currently Listening To: The latest Cd from the Prodigy, and a lot of orchestral music and some of my fave Christian bands like Skillet and 12 Stones
Collaboration Wish List: Prodigy
Dream Project: I would love to just score a video game or film or do the entire soundtrack for one or the other, that is the main goal.
Final Word: What I do is very unique - I have a sound that takes some getting used to and some get it right away. I go from very up-tempo to way mellow, from hip-hop to film score; I just make music that I hope people can understand and just say "hey thats different" and they like the fact that nothing sounds the same. Music isn't about style, it's about heart, it's about life, it's about saying what you feel. So if you feel what I do or what anyone else is doing support it, keep us alive for us and you.
