In any genre of music, there are always those individuals without whom the music we all know and love would falter and fall flat on its face. One such individual is Chris Cozort, for this man has amassed quite the resume in the industrial and electronic music underground as a highly skilled producer, working with familiar names like Pigface and Diverje, to many of the newer and upcoming industrial stars like Adipocere, Skullduggery, and most prominently, Cyanotic. Besides that, he's also a co-founder of Glitch Mode Recordings, as well as his own underground production and mastering outfit, TROZOC.
Cozort is also the driving creative force behind Iammynewt. Having done remixes for PTI and Empty, and releasing tracks on compilations such as Glitch Mode's Hordes of the Elite, Dark Sonus Vol. 1, and Underground, Inc.'s Notes from the Real Underground Vol. V and the Ramones tribute Gabber Gabber Hey!, the sound of Iammynewt is one of urgency and aggravation, chockfull of ear-splitting synthesizer arrangements, desolate atmospheres, and head-churning beats. There is a deceptive simplicity to Iammynewt's approach; stark, visceral, and rich in creativity. One is never overwhelmed, and yet one can get lost in the sonic maze.
Now in 2007, Cozort will not only be making an appearance on the new Cyanotic album, Transhuman 2.0, but he also is poised to release the debut Iammynewt CD, one that is sure to send a deafening shock to your audio synapses. Be prepared!
