Copy Paste Repeat
|
I've been producing for about 3 years now. My production technique is pretty odd as I don't (currently) have the capacity to sit down a learn all the in-s and out-s of audio production. I merely cut, copy, paste, hack, slash and destroy audio samples until I hear something I like the sound of. I take a lot of inspiration through the digital hardcore scene and concentrate on ideas rather than production quality. Not that this justifies my poor production quality... that's just because I don't know what I'm doing.
Without wanting to sound like a pretentious prick, I don't think I have a particular style/sound/genre. I rarely actively go out to create a certain sound, (maybe one or two tracks, but certainly nothing that I sustain over a long period). Everything I've done as CPR has been experimentation.
I'm fascinated by the growing and progressive idea of remixing music. In this day and age 'remix' can mean anything, and I like that. Over the past two years I have been involved in the Celldweller Remix Competition, with surprising success. I reached the finals in round one and came second in round two, something I really did not expect. Due to my success in round two, for round three I was unable to compete in the final, though my track/s will make the CD. The remix samples here on my page have been uploaded with kind permission from FIXT.
I have plans to branch out into the realm of "real music" soon with other, (more talented) musicians.
